Bonsai Property

Summary

The Bonsai property adjoins to the west of Barrick Gold’s Eskay Creek property, about 6 km from the minesite. Previous exploration on the Bonsai has targeted Eskay Creek type stratigraphy in the west-central portion of the property, targeting an area in which surface sampling and subsequent drilling has returned anomalous gold-arsenic values near a felsic volcanic-mudstone contact.

The property has been under option to four separate companies over the years and approximately $2,500,000 has been spent on it to date.   In 2018, geologist Ken Konkin visited the property and made the following comments in a letter report:  “This is a very significant discovery given the proximity to the Eskay Creek VMS mine with a similar geological setting.  It appears as the gold values within the pyritic siliceous material may be related to an exhalative event as part of volcanco-genetic system.  Clearly further work is recommended for this project.”
