Silver Mountain Property

Summary

The property surrounds much of the ground hosting the formerly producing Prosperity-Porter Idaho silver mine, due east of Stewart, BC.  Zones of ablation (glacial meltback) at higher elevations on the Silver Mountain property are prospective for discovery of silver-bearing mineralization.

The Silver Mountain claims are available for option.

Location & Property Status

The Silver Mountain property is located atop Mt. Rainey, centered 5 kilometres east of Stewart, British Columbia, at the headwaters of Glacier Creek.    Silver Grail Resources Ltd. and Teuton Resources Corp. own the property jointly (50-50).

Regional Deposits

The claims surround the Prosperity-Porter Idaho silver property of  Raimount Energy Ltd.  Between 1922 and 1950,  27,000 tons grading  78.5 oz/ton silver were mined from 6 sub-parallel shear zones on the Prosperity-Porter Idaho, with widths varying from 2-13 metres and strikes up to 1,000m.   In 1989,  geological resource was estimated at 826,000 tons grading 19.5 oz/ton silver (NOTE: this resource was calculated prior to the introduction of National Policy 43-401 and as such cannot be said to conform with the stipulations contained therein and consequently cannot be relied upon).

During the 1980 silver boom, the Prosperity-Porter Idaho property was considered an excellent candidate for production.  Plans for a tunnel accessing the deposit from close to sea-level just across from Stewart were made, however the fall in silver prices precluded their implementation.  Because of its close proximity to infrastructure, it is likely that this property will be one of the first to see production in the immediate Stewart district should silver prices continue their recent climb.

Mineralization

The Silver Mountain claims were acquired by staking and are underlain by geology with good potential for hosting shear structures similar to those of the Prosperity-Porter Idaho.   A small prospecting program carried out in 2011 defined a new area of mineralization with values running to 409 ppm silver.  Further work will concentrate on zones of ablation at high elevations.
